Fast Weight Loss – Not Always Recommended
Most people would like to lose weight fast, but in most cases that is not the recommended option. In order to lose weight you are going to have to make some permanent changes in the way you live, as that also counts towards keeping the desirable weight, so with that thought in mind you shouldn’t aim for a fast weight loss.
Any doctor or physician will recommend a slow and steady diet plan as this is the only way that will not be risky for your health; after all, you know that you are changing your body by losing weight. This especially applies if you want to lose a significant amount of weight.
Every doctor will recommend a weight loss capped at 2 pounds per week, but the best option is 1 pound per week. This may seem too slow, but consider this. A pound of fat has 3,500 calories, which means that you will have to burn 500 calories each day if you wish to lose one pound a week. Burning more than 500 calories a day may be harmful for your health and also the weight you are losing over that number probably isn’t fat, but water or in some cases lean tissue.
But that is not true for all, obese people may actually benefit from fast weight loss, but again this should be done with medical supervision. But even in those cases the fast weight loss is just for the period of the first two weeks where a person can lose between 6 to 10 pounds, after the first two weeks the fat loss goes back to 1 to 2 pounds a week.
Opting for fast fat loss should be done only with medical supervision. All those fast weight loss products are probably bad for your health, so make sure you know what you are doing before you opt for a fat weight loss type of diet.
